The Steel Charitable Trust is not currently open for new applications. The final grants for 2025-26 will be decided at a meeting of Trustees on 15 December 2025 and applicants concerned will be informed before Christmas.
In 2026, the Trust will continue to support two strands of work:
- Luton Matters – projects and programmes that provide positive benefit to Luton, its residents and charitable organisations
- opportunities for children and young people, under the age of 26, in the rest of the UK
There will be a short open application period for the Luton Matters grants, during the summer (dates and any restrictions to be confirmed).
Owing to a continued high number of applications for the Under-26 programme, it will be by invitation only in 2026, whilst Trustees continue to review how best to proceed with this programme in the future.
